ClickBid 101: Landing Page

Your landing page is your event’s front door, where guests sign in, bid, donate, buy tickets, and learn about your cause. This walkthrough covers everything from the video above, from finding your page link to building out every section of the Landing Page Builder.

Quick Summary

  • Your landing page link, QR code, and text-to-give keyword all live on your home page’s welcome section.
  • Build and edit your page under Software Settings > Landing Page Builder, with a public preview available alongside your editor.
  • Page Settings controls your title, colors, and font, while Open Auction Early and Show Sign-In control when and how guests can log in and bid.
  • Navigation controls your top menu links (tickets, auction, donate, sponsor), and sponsors themselves are managed separately under Software Settings > Sponsors.
  • The Hero Banner is your background image, logo, and template.
  • Action Bars are up to three clickable buttons you control, and Content Blocks are the sections that make up the body of your page, appeal displays, item previews, sponsors, donation embeds, media, leaderboards, peer-to-peer campaigns, and more.
  • Your Footer holds your support email, social links, and Google Analytics ID.

Step 1: Find Your Landing Page Link, QR Code, and Keyword

On your event’s home page, the welcome section includes your landing page URL, a Copy Link button, and a QR code you can save and share with guests.

ℹ️ Every event also has a keyword, which appears in your landing page URL and can be used for text-to-give. A guest texts 855-800-4975 with your keyword in the message, and they’ll receive prompts to donate to your event.

Step 2: Open the Landing Page Builder

Go to Software Settings > Landing Page Builder to start editing.

💡 Open the public view in one tab and the builder in another (use the box-with-arrow icon next to the builder) so you can see your changes as guests will. You can also preview desktop, tablet, and mobile views to make sure everything looks right on each.

Step 3: Set Your Page Settings

Under Page Settings, edit your page title, brand color, secondary color, and font. Changes update on the preview as you make them. Remember to click Save after any edit.

Below that, you’ll find two settings tied to how and when guests can access your event:

  • Open Auction Early: if set to No, your auction opens automatically based on your event’s start date. If set to Yes (and your items are Active), guests can start bidding before your official start date.
  • Show Sign-In: if set to No, the sign-in/sign-up button disappears and guests can only register, not log in to bid. Set it to Yes so guests can sign in and bid once your auction is open.

Step 4: Configure Navigation

Navigation controls the clickable links in your top menu: tickets, auction, donate, and sponsor.

  • Sponsor link: rename the link, and choose whether it shows in the main navigation and side menu, or only in the side menu. This is separate from your ticket page, sponsor images and groups are managed under Software Settings > Sponsors (see Step 5).
  • Auction link: takes guests directly to your items to start bidding.
  • Donate link: takes guests to a dedicated donation page. This page isn’t an item, it’s edited separately from your home page under Donation/Text-to-Give > Settings, where you’ll find its own URL and QR code, plus fields for colors, a donation goal, description, receipt footer, an image, and custom questions.
  • Ticket page link: set Show Tickets Link to Yes and link your ticket page. If you have more than one ticket page (for example, a separate sponsorship page), you’ll see a dropdown to choose which one this link points to.

Step 5: Add Your Sponsors

Go to Software Settings > Sponsors to upload sponsor images by dragging them in or clicking to upload.

  1. Create sponsor groups (for example, Gold Sponsor) and drag each image into the group it belongs to.
  2. Optionally add a URL to any sponsor image to make it clickable.
  3. You can also add a sponsor by name only, without an image.

Step 6: Set Up Your Hero Banner

The Hero Banner section controls your background image, logo, and overall template.

  1. Upload your hero logo and background image.
  2. Choose a hero layout, and preview how each one looks before deciding.
  3. Turn Show Hero Button on or off. When it’s on, you can add button text and a URL, for example, a “Learn More” button linking to your organization’s website.
  4. Turn Show Social Media Share Buttons on or off. When enabled, guests can sign into their own social accounts and share your landing page with their network.

Step 7: Add Action Bars

Action bars are clickable buttons, you can have up to three. Click Add Action Bar, then choose a type:

  • Donate an item: links to the item donation form. Submissions appear under Items > Manage Items with an invisible status until you approve and activate them.
  • Make a donation: links to a donation item, the same as your top navigation donate button.
  • Sign in / sign up: the same bidder sign-in flow as your top navigation.
  • Sponsors: another way to link to your sponsor section.
  • A custom URL: link anywhere you’d like, for example, a specific sponsor’s own website.
  • Auction category: link directly to a specific item category (for example, Silent Auction or Travel), so guests skip straight to that group of items. Choose an icon and a title, for example, “Check Out Our Silent Auction Items.”
  • Ticket page section: link straight to a specific section of your ticket page, like sponsorships or underwriting, so guests don’t have to sort through the whole page to find what they’re looking for.

Step 8: Set Your Footer and Links

Add your support email, Facebook URL, Twitter URL, and Instagram URL, these automatically appear as buttons at the bottom of your landing page. This is also where you’ll enter your Google Analytics ID if you’re using it to track landing page traffic.

Step 9: Build Out Your Content Blocks

Content blocks make up the body of your page, below your hero banner and action bars. Click Add Content Block and choose a type. Most blocks let you show or hide the block, add a title and header, and choose alignment or background color.

Donations (Appeal Display)

Shows live donation activity, whether from text-to-give or from a specific item’s projected display settings. You can show a mission goal, total raised as a thermometer, recent donor names, and your sponsors.

Auction Item Preview

Shows items that are Active or Closed, so guests can browse, bid, or donate right from the landing page, or click through to see the full auction.

ℹ️ For more detail on this block, see the Auction Preview article linked below.

Sponsors

Similar to your navigation sponsor link, but you have to select which sponsor groups (Gold, Silver, Bronze, or Not Grouped) you want this block to display.

Cumulative Total Bar

Shows your running fundraising total. You can create multiple bars, name each one, and choose full width or grid layout.

💡 Use the buffer field to add an amount raised outside the auction, for example, ticket sales, so your total reflects everything raised toward your goal.

Donate an Item Form

Embeds the item donation form directly on your page. You can add custom questions to this form under Items > Manage Items, scroll down to Custom Questions Donate Item Form, where you can mark a question active, choose text or dropdown, and make it required.

Featured Items

Highlights specific items you choose, showing their names and images.

Free Form Box

A flexible block for any text and images you’d like, with font and color options.

💡 Click Use Auction GPT inside any block to describe what you want written, for example, “write something about what ClickBid does,” and it will generate the text for you.

Featured Media

Embed a YouTube video, Vimeo video, or a live ClickBid Event Stream. For YouTube, you’ll need the video ID (the last part of the video’s URL).

Image Text Split

Pairs an image with text, choosing where the text sits (top, bottom, left, or right) and whether to show a single image, a gallery, or edge-to-edge.

Leaderboard

Shows items that are Active or Closed along with the current bid, and optionally the current bidder’s name, useful for encouraging competitive bidding.

Make a Donation

Embeds a donation item directly on your page. With one image, it shows more detail (giving activity and comments); with up to three images, it displays as cards similar to the auction.

Peer-to-Peer

Lets supporters create their own fundraising campaign on your behalf. A supporter fills out a form (name, email, phone, goal amount, even their own card color) and submits it.

ℹ️ Submitted campaigns appear under Items > Manage Items with an invisible status, tagged P2P, and the event owner receives an email notification. Switch the item’s status to Active to approve it, which sends the creator an email with a shareable link and QR code so they can start raising funds.
